Women in Business Awards Growth Partners

We’re headlining local Women in Business Awards

We’re headlining local Women in Business Awards 2121 1152 Growth Partners

LeicestershireLive launched the Women in Business Awards 2021 to recognise the achievements of female entrepreneurs and professionals across Leicestershire. As headline sponsors, we’re playing a key role in highlighting the work of female business professionals in the region and helping to choose the finalists for each category.

The Women in Business Awards is an important event in the local business calendar, celebrating female role models for future generations.

Our HR Business Partner Claire Antony said:

“We really wanted to do something locally to support diversity in business and the Women in Business Awards is a perfect fit. It is well documented that across the UK, females in business continue to face barriers and are underrepresented in leading roles and sectors. As this is an issue that could affect more than half the population at some stage in their lives and has such a wide-reaching impact on an individual and societal level; we are certainly keen to help tackle it.

We want to be an organisation that is not only known for helping business leaders with things such as payroll and HR legal advice but for our commitment to providing long-term employee engagement solutions and the financial and strategic support to go with it.”

Hosted by TV presenter Emma Jesson, the awards will mark the achievements of the outstanding female entrepreneurs and businesswomen who have helped make Leicestershire such a great place to do business.

Claire continued:

“We’re looking forward to meeting all the finalists and being able to celebrate together in person at the King Power Stadium on 9 September 2021.”

Leicestershire Business Awards 2021

We’re set to crown Employer of the Year

We’re set to crown Employer of the Year 1920 1440 Growth Partners

The LeicestershireLive Business Awards will reunite local businesses after a tough year to crown the Employer of the Year and other companies putting Leicestershire on the map.

As sponsors of the Employer of the Year category, we’ve helped shortlist the region’s top employers who have demonstrated a strong investment in their employees.

Our Group CEO, Paul Bresnihan, said:

“The Employer of the Year Award resonates so well with our mission to make employers’ and employees’ lives easier, happier and healthier. The award is all about celebrating companies that invest in their employees, and we truly believe that when business owners take active steps to make their employees’ working environments a happier and healthier place, their businesses can thrive.”

After the success of previous years, we are proud to be sponsoring the Awards again. The finalists for Employer of the Year 2021 are:

Hosted by Gail Emms MBE and Mark Dolan and in association with Champions and charity partners Rainbows, the awards ceremony will take place on 16 September, celebrating the county’s best companies and the hard work they do.

Paul continued:

“I launched Growth Partners to help SMEs flourish by giving them access to the same benefits and services that help larger businesses prosper. There has been a lot of uncertainty over the last year for both business owners and employees. There will never be a better time to adopt better employee engagement processes and for business owners to unburden themselves from day-to-day administrative demands so they can focus on growing their business. We sincerely applaud the impressive work demonstrated by each of the finalists, and on the night, we wish them all the best of luck.”

Growth Partners backs mental health charity, Mind

We’re backing mental health charity, Mind

We’re backing mental health charity, Mind 1800 1200 Growth Partners

We’ve announced Mind as our new Charity of the Year. This commitment to supporting Mind is part of our mission to make employers’ and employees’ lives easier, happier and healthier so businesses can thrive.

Claire Antony, HR Partner at Growth Partners said:

“We asked our employees to vote for the charity they wanted to be our company charity of the year, and Mind was the overwhelming favourite.

As an employee engagement company, we recognise the importance of mental health and wellbeing and the impact it can have on employees’ lives. By choosing Mind as our charity, we’re reemphasising our commitment to looking after employees and removing the stigma around mental health – we want everyone to feel able to talk openly about their wellbeing.”

The news comes as Mind declared a mental health emergency during last year’s UK national lockdown with more people having experienced a mental health crisis than ever previously recorded. With calls to their helpline doubling, many fundraising events cancelled and shops just reopening, they really need financial support to be able to help people when they need it most.

Our team is hitting the ground running with 18 staff members taking part in Mind’s 100 miles in May challenge – walking, running and cycling a total of 1,800 miles between them. With a challenge fundraising target of £1,800, they’re hoping to raise £1 for each completed mile.

Our team has lots of other fundraising ideas in the pipeline, including the development of innovative open-source software for local businesses, a charity auction, a summer BBQ and a curry contest.

If you’d like to sponsor the team in their challenge, visit the Growth Partners Just Giving page to find out more.

About Mind

Mind is a registered charity that provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. They empower people to understand their condition and the choices available to them through a free, confidential Infoline, a legal line and their award-winning information.

A look back at one year of working from home [Infographic] 1284 720 Growth Partners

March 17 marks exactly one year since we turned off the lights at our offices in Leicester’s Colton Square and set up our workstations at home.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the UK in March 2020, our priority was to protect staff and client services. With our roots firmly based in developing the latest technology, we knew we had the tools to continue to deliver from anywhere and provide a seamless service to our clients.

Paul Bresnihan, Group Chief Executive Officer, said:

“It’s been a tough time for everyone, and we have taken some time to reflect on what’s been an unprecedented year.

We, like all businesses, have learned a lot from this crisis, and I am truly thankful to all our staff who have each played their part.”

The infographic below takes a look back at some of the positives we have taken while working from home for a year during the pandemic.

The Niche Business Awards take place virtually on Friday 22 January 2021 and we’re pleased to be sponsoring Digital Business of the Year.

The Great British determination has definitely come to the fore in supporting one another over the last year so we chose to sponsor the category for Digital Business of the Year as a fitting tribute to the efforts of local companies in surviving 2020.

Our CEO Scott Read said:

“We chose the category because it resonates so well with how all businesses will need to operate moving forward. Excellence in this area is not only testament to that business but can so often provide invaluable digital expertise to a host of businesses, streamlining efficiencies and making businesses more profitable.

It has paid to be flexible, adaptable and open during this time. In addition, it has become even more clear that you have to find a blend between your business needs and the needs of your employees. Everyone has faced uncertainty this year, and whilst making business decisions, it’s been imperative to think about how your employees are feeling and how these decisions will impact them.

Here at Growth Partners, we’re striving for a profitable and sustainable business where employees feel happy, fulfilled and appreciated. I think that more people are thinking about how they can add value, improve their businesses, and offer employees even more support and opportunities.
